Reading
We use the Wonders reading program. During reading we work on comprehension skills and strategies,
retelling, phonics, text features, vocabulary, sight words, grammar, and fluency.
The students will work on several sets of sight words throughout the year. Knowing these words
quickly will help them read fluently. Reading fluently helps with comprehension. If you have to stop and sound everything out, you lose track of what you are reading about!
