Birthdays
Students may bring birthday treats on their birthday if you choose. However, it is NOT mandatory.
If a student has a summer birthday, we recognize that person's half-birthday. A half-birthday is one 6 months opposite the real one. (For example, if the birthday is July 4, the half-birthday would be January 4)
If you choose to send a treat, please send one that is small and individually wrapped. That
prevents messes and ensures that time is used more appropriately for instruction. It is also the school district's policy that no homemade treats are brought to school to be handed out.
Examples of Treats Do NOT Send
pre-wrapped cupcakes/treats juice boxes, bottle of juice
ex. Little Debbie large cakes
a fun-sized candy bar unwrapped cupcakes
a granola bar bags of candy
a pencil party favors
a small bag of fruit snacks
In addition, if you are planning a party for your child, please do not have him/her pass out
invitations at school. I understand that there may be a limit of the number of children you can accommodate at a party. However, inviting a few children and excluding others will result in hurt feelings.
